Dr. Barts completed her undergraduate Medicine at UBC. After completing her medical degree, she received a masters degree in Health Science. She trained in Internal Medicine, then Endocrinology and Metabolism at Dalhousie University in Halifax. She works as a staff endocrinologist at Royal Columbian hospital.

Dr. Shu completed his undergraduate Medicine and Internal Medicine residency at the UBC.  He went on to train in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Dalhousie University in Halifax. He works as a staff endocrinologist at Royal Columbian hospital. He is currently the regional division head of endocrinology for the Fraser Health Authority.  He has a strong interest in medical education previously serving as the undergraduate director of the medicine clinical teaching unit for 10 years.  He has been involved in a number of clinical trials for type 1 and 2 diabetes.
